My brother-in-law was just announced/appointed a MS; he's already a HEAVY drinker, I wonder how much worse it's going to get when he realizes that the position doesn't come with an enchanted holy-spirit wand or a even a pair of magic tights?

"I worked hard as a Ministerial Servant and all I got was this lousy drinking problem!"
by Mr. Falcon ini was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.
i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.
i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

Why did Satan want to kill Jesus?
by FaithfulBrother inwhy would satan have wanted to kill jesus if jesus' death would defeat satan and save mankind?
why would satan enter judas at the last supper and get judas to betray jesus, leading him to his death, if this death is what defeated satan?.

WHY?
Because the whole thing's a wad and asking questions will make your head implode.

Share your success story about raising kids outside of the JW religion.....
by QuestioningEverything inthis is in response to a poster/troll who said that the jw life is the only way to raise a responsible, moral young person.
i have 3 sons--19, 18 and 14. the oldest two just finished up their first year in college-not community college(nothing wrong with that) they are at a state university.
one made the dean's list both semesters.

Most "worldy" kids I knew growing up now live happy, healthy and somewhat successful lives.
All witless kids I know, who left, now live happy, healthy and somewhat successful lives.
Everyone I grew up with, who's still in, is REALLY screwed up, unhappy and broke ass mo-fos.
Hmm I see a pattern.

"I respect a person's beliefs"
by Phizzy ini often hear this phrase "i respect a person's beliefs" on here and elsewhere, but i feel strongly that you should not.. i know that sometimes people mean by that phrase that they respect the right of a person to hold silly beliefs if they want to, but if that is so, say so.. if a person's beliefs are unsupportable, perhaps looney, perhaps downright dangerous, murderous, like the jw blood doctrine, such beliefs deserve no respect at all.. the person holding them we can show respect to by telling them in a gentle, and polite way that their beliefs are a pile of steaming poo, but we should not show respect for the beliefs, even by the simple act of remaining silent.. "to tell the truth as you see it is a wonderful thing" john lydon ("johnny rotten" late of the sex pistols, and now p. i. ltd).

Let's face it, saying "I respect your beliefs" is just the nice (PC) way of saying "I think you're a complete moron and a lunatic".

Next months follow up article will be:
Do you really want to be friends with your peers, and especially the opposite sex, at all?
Why not befriend a lonely old horn-dog instead.

What did your personal big AHA moments look like when you saw through a LIE or suddenly understood a TRUTH?
by Fernando in"what is an aha moment?
it's a moment of clarity, a defining moment where you gain real wisdom - wisdom you can use to change your life.".

I didn't have too many AHA moments because I always felt that something was a bit off about the witlesses and borg,
but
when I was about 9 I realized, hey I'm a girl and I'm not the stupid and useless being they keep telling me I am.

When some new "green" thing surfaces I research it because I refuse to be green-washed.
